Evony Promotion

Leading gamers review and blogsite curse has recently added some promotions around Evony. In addition to this they also have a great writeup on Evony which gives new users a great start to the game.

Those wishing to look at Evony Game coins, new accounts or general strategy help should visit the curse site first to get an idea of things.

In the coming weeks, its expected that the main Evony site by UMGE / WoWMine will have more information up as they build up their staff and online gaming support team. Sure, the support does exist at the moment but its not extensive.

Evony Gaming

With continued growth in Evony Free Forever, software game developers UMGE (United Multiplayer Entertainment) backed by huge World of Warcraft gold trader (WowMine) have been able to pour more money into the free online browser RPG game - the gaming servers have now been expanded to cater.

Total gaming servers are now around 16 with sever new boxes called ‘Evony World Servers’ which are available to those non-english gamers.

Userbase continues to grow as gamers vote with their feet, the RPG title based out of the web browser apparently has around the 1mil+ users online now. We also added more reviews of the gaming world from the blog Online Games Free RPG.

Evony Addictive

Gamers who thought that Blizzards World of Warcraft MMORPG classic was addictive had better be cautious of the new free browser game Evony. Developed by the gurus at software house UMGE, Evony is a cross between several games, the likes of Rome Total War, Civilization, Everquest and yes World of Warcraft.

Recently released out of beta phase (it was called Civony) - Evony has gone viral online and gamers are flocking to take an account at the newest free MMORPG browser based game offering.

There is a pay for play option through Evony Game Coins, but ultimately it’s a free game with enjoyable graphics, a good interface and really well thought out game play. Highly impressive and most gamers will love it.

Evony Free Forever?

Most RTS and MMORPG gamers have heard about Evony the new free web based game, but is it good enough to take users away from the likes of DOTA and World of Warcraft?

The bottom line is, it is happening.

Put aside the visuals in the game for DOTA and WoW, the reason Evony (previously called Civony) is quickly growing such a large, dedicated fan base - is the ease of access.

Having a web based, free interface makes for quick user uptake.

But the smart developers behind Evony have embedded an earning interface, by allowing users to buy game coins and ‘improve’ their experience. Not critical, but possible.

So far, Evony has been a resounding success. We watch the next few months with close interest, as will many games from the RTS and MMORPG world.

DOTA - Secrets and the Basics

DOTA or it’s full official name - Defence of the Ancients is widely followed and played around the world, especially in Asia.

A free modification or mod for the popular Warcraft 3 software series from Blizzard. With such a huge following and a massive amounts of characters you can play, plenty of secrets, guides and strategy tips on DOTA have passed acorss the internet airwaves.

Here are the basics and BEST DOTA TIPS to get you really playing Defence of the Ancients well:

Tip #1 Farming for Gold in the game (Critical)

Farming nuking creeps or even neutral creeps for gold. The more enemy creeps you kill, the more gold you’ll receive. Sometimes when farming becomes difficult, player may turn to farming neutral characters for extra gold.

Tip #2 Last Hit or getting a Kill (Rude, but handy)

Be the last hero or player to hit a creep for gold. Damaging an enemy creep does not provide gold, so its beneficial for a non-ranged character to move in for a last hit to receive this benefit. This also allows you to stay out of range of the opposing team.

Making a last hit requires a feel of the timing to deal direct damage for different characters. You can get a feel of this simply by playing the game often. A good strategy is to keep the thumb on the “ALT” key so that you can readily see the life line of the creeps, and only move in to get a last hit when its life is low.

Tip #3 Hot Key, defined keyboard shortcuts for quickfire playing

Hot Key is an essential DOTA strategy. Different spells are tied to different buttons which when pressed will activate the spell. Since battles in DOTA last only a few seconds, clicking on the icons with the mouse is a little slow.

Tip #4 Mouse, get a decent one!

A mouse based game such as DOTA needs a high quality mouse. You’ll also enjoy the gaming experience more with a good mouse, skates, and mouse pad.

Tip #5 Item Build, for your hero

Having the right item build will increase the power of your character. Some characters require more health or more speed, or more mana as the game progresses. Knowing the complimentary item build for your character will increase its power and direct damage.

Tip #6 Team Play, don’t be a loner - GANK in a group.

In competitive DOTA play, its necessary to play in groups. Public  DOTA Tips and Competitive DOTA strategy are different with the latter being more difficult and emphasis on team cooperation.

Tip #7 Mana Required, build up your supplies to cast spells

Always take note of the amount of mana required to cast 2 spells. 1 spell alone will normally not be sufficient to take down an opponent.

Tip #8 Item Cost, don’t waste your hard earned gold in DOTA

By understanding what items need to be built, you’ll be able to know the cost and time your return to the fountain. Less trips back to the fountain means more time in the battle field, which translates to more gold and experience for your DOTA character.

DOTA Tactics; Deny Creeps, Beat Towers and Powerups

DOTA Tactic 1: Denying Creeps

DOTA Players Denying creeps is essential in the beginning of any game. At level 1 in easymode, every player needs about 3 or 4 creeps to gain a new level. By denying an opponent a creep you stop them levelling. You not only reduce the amount of experience your opponents get, you also stop them getting gold from the dead creeps.

For a player to deny a creep, you must deal the killing blow to your own creeps (you can only attack your own creeps when they have lesss than 50% of their health).

DOTA Tactic 2: Dealing with Towers in DOTA

Probably a common theory in DOTA but regardless, its critical dealing with towers.

  • If your creeps are attacking the opponents creeps, and none of you creeps attack the tower, the tower will make you it’s first priority if you start hitting it.
  • If your creeps are attacking the tower, it is safe for you to attack it without worrying about it hitting you.
  • An exception to the statement above is if you have lower hp than the creeps, as the towers seem to focus on units with low hp first
  • The tower will also start attack you, if you start hitting an enemy hero, in the vicinity of a tower. An exception to this, is if that hero already is taking damage from your teams creeps.

Towers are extremely powerful in DOTA, always use extreme care and don’t get trapped near them especially when hero’s (enemy) are around.

DOTA Tactic 3: DOTA Powerups

Powerups are very powerful in DOTA, for several reasons. They may give you time to escape, give you a bigger chance of killing an oponent, or even if it’s just giving you the chance of staying longer in combat.

Most players, if not all, know that when they are chased by enemy players, taking a detour to a spot where a powerup may be, can save their lives.

DOTA Pushing Strategy

View Details for Rhasta For a solid DOTA Pushing Strategy; try this hero lineup and strategy:

Team Heros: Prophet, Ezalor, Rhasta, Demnok Lannik (Warlock), Purist Omni Knight:

ATTACK STRATEGY (Defence and Other Methods Soon)

You do not HAVE to use the heros mentioned above other DOTA users may prefer the vitality of the broodmother, and Enigma. You might wonder why 2 heroes that are particularly strong on their own, and have good summoned units are not included here. Well, the broodmother just does not fit in, she is undenyably strong, but aside from her spiderlings(which are not cost effective) she cannot contribute anything else to this strategy, not even the power of presence, if you know what i mean. However, Enigma could be a very vital edition to this strategy and we recommend using him instead one of the heroes(either the keeper of the light(preferebly this one) or the warlock), as his conversion skill can deny enemy heroes creep kills and create a powerful damaging army. The main items for every hero you might suggest are mekanism and other suport items preferably necromincon.

Use this strategy either of 2 different ways, it depends on the hero roster.

First one is that all five heros should gather on the middle lane and attack with the first wave of creeps. During the first push your team should try to destroy the first tower, keeper of the light the main hero here as his illuminate will keep enemy heros away and is very effective against creeps, also use chakra magic to revitalize your mana and the prophets mana if possible. The first tower should be easy to destroy since enemy heros would not anticipate 5 heros pushing at lvl one. After the first tower you should be careful even though you would have a good amount of hp an mana left, because the enemy heros would probably gather to counter your push. By this stage you should try to lay as much damage to the second tower as possible without dying. At this point you should probably go back to base, heal and buy some of the suggested items. Then continue your push on the second tower, by then if everything goes smoothly you should ensure victory as long as you keep the pressure on the enemy but dont get too cocky. Your team can increase their chances of victory by getting super creeps on more than one lane, the prophet and the keeper of light (boots of travel) can do this easily by teleporting and by moving from lane to lane. This will confuse the enemy and force to split up and make them waste time. Do not let the match go to late game, because if it does there is a possibility that you could lose because some of the suggested heros can not adapt to late game.

The second method is that you all go on different lanes and try to reach level 6 as soon as possible, creeping will be your first prioroty, and denying is your next. once the most important heroes hit level 6, particularly Rhasta and Demnok the Warlock, all the team should follow the guidelines for the first method, gather on a lane and push as fast as possible.

Remember, Dota is not won by killing enemy heroes, it is won by killing the main stronghold. This is exactly what this strategy tries to accomplish. Getting super or even mega creeps will be your first prioroty, once accomplished, your goal will be almost withing your grasp, as i have never heard of anyone who won against mega creeps.
